Songs from the Rainshadow's Edge
Arkora's debut album features Benton Roark's Songs from the Rainshadow's Edge. Described as a “Jungian journey beyond the edge and back again” (The Wholenote), this lush and hauntingly poetic five-part work is scored for soprano, flute, viola, bass, electric guitar, percussion and narrator. Songs from the Rainshadow’s Edge has been presented in Vancouver, St. John’s, Brooklyn, and Austin and has been featured on radio stations such as KUT, KOOP, and All Classical Portland. It was nominated for Classical Composition of the Year by the 2016 Western Canadian Music Awards.
